Dorset & Hampshire Wedding & Portrait Photographer

Welcome to my website - apologies for it not looking quite as good as usual but it is being redeveloped at present with lots of new information and pictures being added over the next couple of weeks! Jerry 26th February 2009

Living on the coast in the beautiful town of Christchurch, Jerry photographs weddings and families  throughout Dorset, New Forest, Hampshire and Wiltshire.

Like so many professional wedding and portrait photographers, it is sometimes hard to believe that I am being paid to do what I so enjoy! Photography was a lifelong passion passion of mine long before it became my career, starting with my attempts at photographing blackbirds on the lawn using the family Kodak 126 Instamatic - need less to say the results were less than impressive!

For a long time I specialised in wildlife and landscapes, before spotting an advertisement in the local paper advertsiing a course at Bournemouth and Poole College of Further Education, offering the opportunity to learn black and white developing and printing. Under the guidance of Denis Roberts, I spent some very happy Saturday mornings in the college darkroom discovering the joy of black and white printing, and when the term came to an end, I promptly signed up for the following terms course. After three and a half years, I felt I'd exhausted what the college had to offer, and my photography had moved in some fantastic new directions.

The first wedding I ever photographed was at Highcliffe Castle, in Christchurch and it was an event I had to be talked into photographing - at the time I had no desire to photograph weddings - but it was wonderful. I really enjoyed the day, and the couple were delighted with the results! And so one wedding led to another, and pretty soon I was a full time wedding and portrait photographer!

I love being involved with weddings and have met some lovely people over the last few years, and have enjoyed photographing at some of the beautiful wedding venues in the area such as Parley Manor, Highcliffe Castle, Athelhampton House, Linden Lawn House, The Yenton Court Hotel and many more throughout Dorset and The New Forest.

I endeavour to be conscious of the environment in the way I run my business, and my life, doing my best to minimise car journeys, energy use and waste - there is no Planet B! I also contribute regularly to charities, mainly those dealing with environemntal issues, and involuntary childlessness, and I am always willing to consider charitable projects - give me a shout if you've got an idea.
